John Bright "Jack" Garrison - Born February 13, 1909 in West Newton, Massachusetts – Died May 13, 1988 in Lincoln, Massachusetts was an American ice Hockey player.

Garrison attended the local Country Day School in West Newton and as a school boy there had the unparalled record of playing six years on the varsity Hockey team.

Garrison then prepared for international play with the Harvard Crimson where he played from 1928 through 1932, both as a forward and a defenseman.

Garrison played defense for the 1932 United States Olympic Hockey Team, which won the silver medal at the at Lake Placid Winter Olympics. He played all six matches and scored three goals.

Garrison was a member of the Massachusetts Rangers, the American team that won the 1933 World Ice Hockey Championships. Garrison scored the dramatic unassisted overtime goal in a 2-1 victory over the Canadian national team, thus ensuring the gold medal. This is the only time that an American team has won the senior World Championship tournament.

Garrison went on to captain the 1936 Olympic Team which won the bronze medal for the American team in the 1936 Winter Olympics. He played seven matches and scored four goals.

During these years he gained the reputation as one of the finest amateur players in the United States.

Garrison coached the 1948 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team.

John Bright Garrison was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 1973.
