William Roxborough "Red" Stuart - Born February 1, 1900 in Sackville, New Brunswick - Died March 8, 1978 in Amherst, Nova Scotia was a Canadian ice Hockey defenceman and coach.

- Brown Trophy Champion 1920 with Amherst Ramblers.

- Stanley Cup Champion 1922 with Toronto St. Patricks.

- O'Brien Trophy Champion 1922 with Toronto St. Patricks.

- Allan Cup Champion 1935 with Halifax Wolverines (coach), 1937 with Sudbury Frood Tigers (coach).

Stuart played Hockey for the Amherst Ramblers in the Nova Scotia Senior Hockey League from 1916 to 1920. He led the league in goals and points in the 1919-1920 season and did the same in the playoffs that year while also spending the most time in the penalty box.

The Toronto St. Pats signed him on January 5, 1920, and Stuart made his NHL debut on January 12, 1921 vs Hamilton Tigers at Barton Street Arena in a 4-2 Toronto win.

Stuart scored his 1st NHL goal vs Georges Vezina of Montreal Canadiens at 12:30 of 1st period on January 17, 1921 at Mount Royal Arena in a 9-5 Montreal win.

Stuart won his first and only championship while helping Toronto win its second Stanley Cup in 1922. Stuart played four seasons with the St. Pats, and started a fifth before being traded to the Boston Bruins in December 1924.

Stuart played three seasons for the Bruins before being traded to the Minneapolis Millers (AHA) by Boston with cash and future considerations for Nobby Clark and Norm Gainor, October 24, 1927.

Stuart would play three seasons with Minneapolis, also coaching them. Stuart was then traded to Seattle Eskimos of the PCHL, where he played a year and then played for Duluth Hornets, and the Minneapolis Millers again.

Stuart played in 195 regular season NHL games, scoring 30 goals (6 GWG / 1 OTG), 19 assists with 155 penalty minutes and 17 NHL playoff games, scoring 1 goals, 3 assists with 12 penalty minutes.

Stuart finished his career coaching back in the league he began his career in with the Halifax Wolverines in 1933 to 1935, Then the Sudbury Frood Tigers 1936 to 1937 and Campbellton Tigers, Sudbury Wolves.

Bill "Red" Stuart was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame.
