Canadian ice hockey player Jimmy Britton of the New York Hockey Club of the American Amateur Hockey League.

Jimmy Britton was born in Gananoque, Ontario on December 30, 1887. His real name was Freeman Clifford Britton, and he was called "Jimmy" or "Jimmy Britt" because of his resemblance with American lightweight boxer Jimmy Britt, with his boyish Irish looks and red hair.

Britton played nine seasons with the New York Hockey Club in the AmAHL between 1908–09 and 1916–17, predominantly on the cover point position, the more offensive defensive position. From the 1910–11 season and onwards he acted as team captain.

Jimmy Britton died in 1927 at an age of 39.
