National Women's Hockey League / NWHL leading scorer and MVP Alexa Gruschow, scored her first post-season goal in the 1st period on a highlight reel goal as she was being tripped and in the air (aka - Bobby Orr), kept her focus as she shot the puck over the shoulder of Buffalo goalie Amanda Leveille, for the only goal of the game.

Katie Fitzgerald then backstopped the Riveters to a 1-0 Isobel Cup victory at the Barnabas Health Hockey House in Newark, N.J. knocking off the defending Isobel Cup Champion Buffalo Beauts. She made 21 saves and earned Most Valuable Player honors after becoming the first goalie to shut out the Beauts all season.
