The National Hockey League appears to be set on a tentative date for puck drop on Saturday, Jan. 19.
In a memo sent out on Sunday night, the NHL suggested that its expectation is to open camps as early as Saturday en route to a 48-game schedule that will commence seven days later.

A tentative agreement has been reached that will end the NHL lockout. The league and its players association reached a deal early Sunday after a marathon 16 hours of negotiations in New York.
The 10-year collective bargaining agreement still must be ratified by the NHLPA.
No start date has been set or how many games will be played.

Max Talbot is one of my favourite hockey players in the NHL right now, the guy is just so charming and underrated as a player. I'm glad HBO gave me my first glimpse of him and his sweater collection during their 24/7 series, and now we get to check out his off-season training regiment.
