The Port Huron Flags played a 72 game regular IHL season, winning 25, losing 36 with 11 ties and finished 6th in IHL standings.

In the 1971 IHL playoffs, Port Huron defeated Muskegon Mohawks 4-2 in games in round 1 and Des Moines Oak Leafs 4-2 in games in championship finals, winning the Turner Cup.
