The Stanley Cup has had many changes over the years, and this design was after the "Stove Pipe" Cup design which was used through the 1930s and 1940s.
This design was 1st used in 1948 and was last presented in 1957.
The current design of the Stanley Cup was 1st used in 1958.
Carl Poul Petersen, a "Master Danish-Canadian Silversmith" was the designer of this version of the Stanley Cup, and the design that is currently used.
NOTE
The bowl on the Stanley Cup was originally purchased by Lord Stanley and used until 1963, when a replica was made by Carl Poul Petersen and Barry Wilmont, which is now called the "Presentation Cup"
The original Stanley Cup bowl, pictured here is now on display at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Ontario.
