Jacques Demers - Born August 25, 1944 in Montreal, Quebec is a Canadian retired ice Hockey scout, coach, general manager and former Canadian Senator.

Avco World Trophy / Avco Cup finalist 1974 with Chicago Cougars.

- Louis A. R. Pieri Memorial Award Winner 1983 with Fredericton Express. AHL Coach of the Year 1982-83.

- Jack Adams Award Winner 1987, 1988 with Detroit Red Wings.
First coach to win back to back.

- Prince of Wales Trophy Champion 1993 with Montreal Canadiens.

- Stanley Cup Champion 1993 with Montreal Canadiens.

In 2010, Jacques Demers was elected as an inaugural inductee into the World Hockey Association / WHA Hall of Fame in the coaching category.

Jacques Demers was appointed to the Canadian Senate by then-Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2009, serving until 2019.
