Neal LaMoy Broten - Born November 29, 1959 in Roseau, Minnesota is an American retired ice Hockey center.

- NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Champion 1979 with Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Scored the Winning Goal.
Western Collegiate Hockey Association / WCHA Rookie of the Year 1979.

- Winter Olympics Gold Medal Champion 1980 with Team USA.
Miracle On Ice Team.

- Hobey Baker Memorial Award Winner 1981 with Minnesota Golden Gophers - 1st Ever Winner.

- Clarence S. Campbell Bowl Champion 1991 with Minnesota North Stars.

- Prince of Wales Trophy Champion 1995 with New Jersey Devils.

- Stanley Cup Champion 1995 with New Jersey Devils.
Scored the Stanley Cup Winning Goal....first ever American to do this.
Broten is also the 1st University of Minnesota player to have his name inscribed on the Stanley Cup.

Broten made his NHL debut with the Minnesota North Stars on March 31, 1981 vs St. Louis Blues at Metropolitan Sports Center, also scoring his 1st NHL goal vs Mike Liut at 4:03 of the 3rd period in a 6-3 Minnesota win.

Broten scored his 1st NHL hat-trick vs New York Islanders on November 23, 1982 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in a 8-8 tie.

Broten played 1099 regular season NHL games, scoring 289 goals (34 GWG / 4 OTG), 634 assists with 569 penalty minutes and 135 NHL playoff games, scoring 35 goals (7 GWG / 1 OTG), 63 assists with 77 penalty minutes.

Neal Broten is the 1st American born player to record 100 points in one NHL season - 105 points (29 goals) in 1985-86.

Neal Broten was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2000.

Neal Broten will be inducted into the Minnesota Sports Hall of Fame in 2024.

Neal Broten's jersey number 7 was retired by the Dallas Stars on February 7, 1998.

Neal Broten scored Dallas Stars first goal ever on October 5, 1993 vs Detroit Red Wings at Reunion Arena in a 6-4 Dallas win.

Neal Broten is one of two players, along with Ed Belfour, to have played on teams that won the NCAA ice Hockey championship, Olympic Gold Medal and the Stanley Cup.

Neal Broten is the only player to have won the Hobey Baker, Olympic Gold Medal and the Stanley Cup.

Neal Broten is one of only two American players, along with Ken Morrow, to have won both the Olympic Gold Medal and the Stanley Cup.
