Renfrew, Ontario native Joseph Henry "Joe / Chief" Jones (1879–1959), goaltender of the Houghton, Michigan based Portage Lakes Hockey Club, in 1902–03.
Jones, of Indigenous background, also played with the Cobalt Silver Kings of the National Hockey Association (NHA) in 1910.
