The Rangers finished the 1931-32 NHL season with 23 wins, 17 losses, 8 ties in 48 games, winning the American Division and their 1st Prince of Wales Trophy.

The Rangers played the Montreal Canadiens in the 1932 NHL Semi-Finals, winning series 3-1 in games, then faced the Toronto Maple Leafs in the finals, losing 3-0 in games.
