McAndrew joined the Pittsburgh Duquesne for the 1915–16 season from Buckingham, Quebec where he had played on their LOHA (Lower Ottawa Hockey Association) team. He had also played previously with Nipissing in the Cobalt Mines Hockey League in Northeastern Ontario.
