Goaltender Charlie Gardiner of the Winnipeg Maroons in 1926–27
Gardiner won the Stanley Cup in 1933–34 with the Chicago Black Hawks, and a few months thereafter he died of brain hemorrhage brought on by a tonsillar infection, aged 30.
