EditBrothers George (b. 1886) & Howard (b. 1891) McNamara, colloquially known as the "Dynamite Twins" due to their large size and their penchant for throwing thunderous bodychecks.
The two brothers, both defensemen, were teammates together on the 1908–09 Montreal Shamrocks in the ECHA, the 1910–11 Waterloo Colts in the OPHL, the 1911–12 Halifax Crescents in the Maritimes, and on the 1912–13 Toronto Tecumsehs, 1913–1915 Toronto Ontarios, and the 1916–17 Toronto 228th Battalion, in the National Hockey Association (NHA).
George and Howard had another hockey playing brother, Hal (b. 1888), another defenseman, who played with his brothers on the 1910–11 Waterloo Colts and the 1914–15 Toronto Ontarios.
Post career the McNamara brothers were involved with their own McNamara Construction Company which developed into a prosperous company.
