William David "Bill" Thoms - Born March 5, 1910 in Newmarket, Ontario – Died December 26, 1964 in Toronto, Ontario was a Canadian ice Hockey centre and coach.

Thoms played his junior Hockey with the Newmarket Redmen from 1927 to 1929, West Toronto Nationals for the 1929/30 season, and Toronto Marlboros from 1930 to 1932, also playing for Toronto Eaton's from 1931 to 1932.

Thoms made his NHL debut with Toronto Maple Leafs on January 3, 1933 vs New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden in a 4-2 Rangers win.

Thoms scored his 1st NHL goal vs Bill Beveridge of Ottawa Senators at 15:24 of 1st period on January 14, 1933 at Maple Leaf Gardens in a 5-3 Toronto win. He had 2 goals in the game.

Thoms shared the NHL goal-scoring lead with Charlie Conacher in 1935–36 season. Thoms had 33 goals while playing on a line with Frank Finnigan and Buzz Boll.

Thoms played in 549 regular season NHL games, scoring 135 goals (22 GWG / 3 OTG), 207 assists with 172 penalty minutes and 44 NHL playoff games, scoring 6 goals (2 GWG), 10 assists with 6 penalty minutes.

Thoms coached the Toronto Marlboros Juniors of the OHA in 1946-47 and Toronto Meteors in 1948-49.
