"After weeks of anticipation, the Winnipeg Jets finally revealed their logo on Friday with a new look representing their new future in the National Hockey League.
The emblem, launched on their official website on Friday afternoon, looks dramatically different from the old one that the represented the city 15 years ago when the original Jets franchise left for Phoenix. It features a silhouette of a CF-18 Hornet pointing skywards and centred squarely on top of a red Maple Leaf.
"True North Sports & Entertainment felt it was important for the new Winnipeg Jets to develop a strong new identity," said Mark Chipman, Chairman & Governor of True North Sports & Entertainment in a statement. "We felt it was important to authenticate the name Jets and we believe the new logo does that through its connection to our country's remarkable Air Force heritage, including the rich history and relationship that our city and province have enjoyed with the Canadian Forces."
The logo is ready to be printed on NHL and other hockey publications, as well as 2011-12 tickets for all 30 teams. The club's home and away jerseys are expected to be revealed later this summer.
The team announced at the NHL Entry Draft last month that it would nicknamed the Jets after the league approved the move of the Atlanta Thrashers to Winnipeg.
The Jets' first regular season game will at home against the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday, October 9." - TSN

I really like this logo set, clean, modern, yet retro and pays respect to the Canadian Forces. B+ until I see them on jerseys.
The actual JET logo is AWESOME. It could be even better if, instead of the single-engine design, they could use a DOUBLE engine "jet" for the logo. The would make for a Double flame at the bottom behind the engines, which, if done correctly, could look like a W!!! I'll try to upload the image I doctored.
Yeah! Check my profile pic! This is what I mean!
The double-engine W also doesn't look like a PENIS.
Hello, Jets marketing?
Yeah, CALL ME.
YOU NEED ME.
OK, and further than THAT, the CF-18 Hornet jet fighter is a DUAL ENGINE JET!
