The Gold Medal Game, Netherlands vs China, ended in a 1-1 tie, with goals scored by Yi Chen of China in the 1st quarter and Yibbi Jansen of Holland in 4th quarter.

With the score tied after regulation, the game went to a shootout with each team getting five 8-second chances to score. Pien Sanders, Maria Verschoor scored before Marijn Veen scored the golden goal, as goalkeeper Anne Veenendaal stopped three of four attempts.
