Some miracles happen on anniversaries, and some are mean't to be. The 50th anniversary of ERC Ingolstadt Hockey Club is 2014, and this year they won their 1st German Ice Hockey League / Deutsche Eishockey Liga Championship - It took 7 games.

Christoph Gawlik scored what turned out to be the championship winning goal at 16:15 of the second period, and then John Laliberte scored on a breakaway just 28 seconds into the 3rd period for the insurance goal. Timo Pielmeier shut the door to record a shutout for The Panthers / ERC Ingolstadt.

ERC Ingolstadt celebrates its first ever DEL championship and is the first team that could win it from the 9th place of regular season, beating the reigning champions Berlin, the second placed Krefeld Penguins, the first placed Hamburg Freezers and finally the Kölner Haie in 7 games.
