Genève-Servette HC defended its Spengler Cup title on New Years Eve with a 3-0 victory over Salavat Yulaev Ufa at the Vaillant Arena.

Arnaud Jacquemet scored what would be the Spengler Cup Championship goal early in the 2nd period, assisted by Romain Loeffel. Daniel Rubin soon after scored the assurance goal. Taylor Pyatt scored in the 3rd period.

Janick Schwendener made 21 saves for the shutout.
