Victor Chick Zamick - Born August 16, 1926 in Winnipeg, Manitoba - Died October 8, 2007 in London, England was a Canadian/British ice Hockey centre and coach.

- English National League Champion 1951, 1954 with Nottingham Panthers.

- British Autumn Cup Champion 1955 with Nottingham Panthers.

Zamick played his junior Hockey with Winnipeg Air Cadets, Winnipeg Monarchs, St. Boniface Athletics and St. Catharines Falcons.

In the summer of 1947, 1936 Winter Olympics Gold Medal Champion Alex "Sandy" Archer was in his hometown of Winnipeg looking for players to fill some open spots for his Nottingham Panthers team back in the English National League / ENL.

Archer recruited the 5' 8" 175lb Zamick to join his team in England just 2 days before he was about to leave on the steamship back to London. Zamick Winnipeg left wearing his brothers suit and $30 in his pocket.

Zamick was dynamic skater, quite muscular and had a quick release for his accurate shooting. Chick is what the Nottingham faithful would know him by, and during his 1st season in the ENL, he would win the scoring title.

Chick went on to break record after record in an 11 year career with the Panthers including registering his 100th goal in December 1948 and his 600th just under 6 years later. Along the way, the Panthers won 2 English National League championships in 1951 and 1954.

Zamick now age 28, set league marks of most points (112) and most goals (65) during the BNL 1954-55 season, also being the 1st player to exceed 1,000 points all-time in National League competitions, with most goals (594) and most assists (473). He played a total of 62 games that season, which included the Autumn Cup series, scoring 94 goals, 75 assists with only 16 penalty minutes.

Chick was appointed player-coach of the Panthers for the 1955/56 season, leading them to championships in the 1955 British Autumn Cup and the British National League in 1956.

In total, Chick won 7 scoring titles, had a total of 778 goals, 645 assists with 192 penalty minutes in 624 National League games. He scored fewer than 100 points a season only once – in 1951-52 which stopped at 98. These seasons included the National League and Autumn Cup.

Zamick was voted onto 9 consecutive All-Star Teams between 1947-48 and 1955-56 and a 10th in 1957-58.

Zamick would leave Nottingham for a few seasons, becoming a playing coach with Genève-Servette HC and Altrincham Aces.

Zamick returned when ice Hockey returned to Wembley's Empire Pool in 1963, joining Sonny Rost and his old Panthers’ line-mate Les Strongman playing for the Wembley Lions for 2 seasons to finish his career.

Chick returned to Nottingham after retiring, and opened several businesses, including a dry cleaner, sauna and squash courts.

Chick Zamick was voted Nottingham's Sportsman Of The Year in 1948-49 & 1950-51, beating off stiff competition from national sporting figures, including the legendary England and Notts County football centre-forward Tommy Lawton.

Victor ‘Chick’ Zamick was inducted into the British Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 1951.

Victor (Chick) Zamick was inducted into the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame in 1995.
