Eugene Joseph "Gene" Dopp - Born Oct 7, 1892 in New Hamburg, Ontario - Died June 24, 1971 in Whitby, Ontario was a Canadian Ice Hockey left winger, coach and Lacrosse player, coach, manager and executive.

- J. Ross Robertson Cup Junior Champion 1912 with Toronto Canoe Club Paddlers.

- J. Ross Robertson Cup Senior Champion 1916 with Toronto Riversides.

LACROSSE
Dopp held executive positions in the Ontario Lacrosse Association (secretary-treasurer) and Canadian Lacrosse Association (secretary-treasurer, 1st vice-president, president).

The E.J. Gene Dopp trophy is also presented annually to the Canadian Lacrosse Association Senior A Rookie of the Year since 1966.

Gene Dopp was also on the selection committee for the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Gene Dopp was inducted into the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1965 (builder) considered a Charter Member.

NOTE
The Minto Cup was donated on March 16, 1901 by the Governor-General of Canada, Lord Minto - Sir Gilbert John Murray Kynynmond Elliot, 4th Earl of Minto.

Sir Donald Daniel Mann (D.D.Mann) donated The D.D. Mann Trophy (Mann Cup) made of solid gold in 1910 for the lacrosse senior amateur championship trophy in the Dominion of Canada.
