The Maple Leafs played a 70 game NHL regular season, winning 32, losing 24 with 14 ties, finishing in 3rd place in NHL standings.

Detroit defeated Toronto 4-1 in games in NHL semi-final playoffs.

Harry Lumley won the 1954 Vezina Trophy and was selected to NHL First All-Star Team.
