The Soviet Union sent a national "B" team called the Moscow Selects to play a series of 8 games in Toronto, Thunder Bay and Montreal in December, 1972 vs some of Quebec and Ontario teams and players. Some of the players from other OHA teams joined the Toronto Marlboros for these exhibition games.
Seen here is Vladimir Devyatov / Владимир Девятов who played for Moscow Dynamo shooting on Jean-Louis Levasseur of the Ontario Selects at Maple Leaf Gardens on December 10, 1972.
Levasseur had been playing for the Orillia Terriers in the Ontario Hockey Association and was selected as one of the goalies for the Ontario team.
