Alvin Bernard "Buck" Jones - Born August 17, 1917 in Owen Sound, Ontario - Died August 23, 2007 in Tampa, Florida was a Canadian / American ice Hockey defenceman.

Buck Jones made his NHL debut with Detroit Red Wings on January 26, 1939 vs Chicago Black Hawks at Chicago Stadium in a 1-0 Detroit win.

Buck Jones scored his 1st NHL goal vs Paul Bibeault of the Montreal Canadiens on January 4, 1942 at 6:32 of the 1st period at Detroit Olympia in a 10-0 Detroit win. His goal was the game winner.

Buck Jones play 50 regular season NHL games, scoring 2 goals (1 GWG), 3 assists with 36 penalty minutes. He played 12 NHL playoff games, having 1 assist with 18 penalty minutes.

Alvin “Buck” Jones was inducted into the Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame in 1987
