The Canucks played a 80 game NHL regular season, with 42 wins, 26 losses and 12 ties finishing 1st in Smythe Division and 2nd in Campbell Conference.
Vancouver defeated Winnipeg Jets 4-3 in 1st round playoff games, then lost to Edmonton Oilers 4-2 in 2nd round games.
Pavel Bure was awarded the Calder Memorial Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year.
Pat Quinn won the Jack Adams Award as NHL Coach of the Year.
Kirk McLean was runner-up for the Vezina Trophy.
