The International Ice Hockey Federation / IIHF 1994 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships were held in Italy, with the championship game played in Milan.

Canada went undefeated in the tournament, having 5 wins in the first round, then defeated the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals 3-2, Sweden in the semifinals 6-0 and Finland 2-1 in a shootout win (3-2) with team captain Luc Robitaille getting the winner.

Bill Ranford was selected as tournaments Best Goaltender and named to the Media All-Star Team.

Paul Kariya was selected as the tournaments Best Forward and named to the Media All-Star Team.
