Syracuse University Lacrosse Midfielder

Brown was selected a 2nd team All-American in 1956 (30 goals) and a 1st team All-American in 1957 (43 goals).

Brown lettered in four sports at Syracuse University (lacrosse, football, basketball and track and field).

Brown was voted as Syracuse University Athlete of the Year in 1956-57.

Many believe his last game was his greatest moment as a lacrosse player, as Brown scored five goals in one half of play against the nation's top players in the 1957 North/South All-Star game.

Brown was so dominant in the game, that they changed the rules requiring a lacrosse player to keep his stick in constant motion when carrying the ball.....known as "The Jim Brown Rule"

Jim Brown was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1983.

The Premier Lacrosse League / PPL MVP Award is named in his honor.

NOTE
Brown is quoted as having said, "I'd rather play lacrosse six days a week and football on the seventh."
