Roberts made his NHL debut with Calgary Flames on November 11, 1986 vs Vancouver Canucks, also scoring his 1st NHL goal at Olympic Saddledome in a 5-3 Flames win.
Roberts scored his 1st NHL hat-trick vs Grant Fuhr & Bill Ranford of Edmonton Oilers on March 30, 1990 at Olympic Saddledome in a 6-2 Flames win. His 2nd goal was the game winner.
Roberts played in 1224 regular season NHL games, scoring 438 goals (52 GWG / 5 OTG), 472 assists with 2560 penalty minutes and 130 NHL playoff games, scoring 32 goals (4 GWG / 1 OTG), 61 assists with 332 penalty minutes.
Roberts played in NHL All-Star Games 1992, 1993, 2004.
Roberts is the oldest player, at 41, to record a multiple goal game in the NHL playoffs, when he scored 2 for the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2008.
