Julian Klymkiw
Detroit Red Wings 1958
Klymkiw was the practice goalie for the Red Wings during the late 1950s, but did get almost a full period of NHL action on October 12, 1958.
The visiting New York Rangers had their goalie Gump Worsley knocked out of the game early in the third period, when he was was tripped up and crashed into his own net by Gordie Howe, pulling a tendon in his left leg. Worsley was removed from the ice on a stretcher, and the Red Wings offered the Rangers the use of Klymkiw for the remainder of the game. He allowed 2 goals in a 3-0 Detroit win.
