1st Battalion of the Manchester Regiment Hockey Team 1905 India.
The officer with the 'Fleur de Lys' is Leo Creagh, who was born in 1878 at Grangewood Lodge, Netherseal, Derbyshire. He joined the army in 1899 and served in C Company of the 1st Battalion of the Manchester Regiment, attaining the rank of Captain. He saw active service in the 2nd Boer War and later in WWI. He was killed in action between 20th and 21st December 1914 near Givenchy on the Western Front. He is remembered on the Le Touret memorial at Richebourg. He was awarded the Queens Medal with Clasp.
