Another innovation of the Patterson Helmet can be seen in the holes. It was the first to be adjustable. A study of the first sPAPs helmets leads me to believe the front and back pieces were fused otherwise the three air holes could not be alined. By 1961 the sPAPs side holes had disappeared and holes for adjustment are present so they appear to have learned from one another.
