EditWE REMEMBER
Remember me, waiting here, patiently
Remember what you must return to.
Remember your home and come back to us
Please come back, and return home safely.
Remember them, friends who fought
and fell before my eyes
Remember the time spent together
before they died.
Remember they loved
And let their sacrifice not be in vain.
Remember their faces twisted in agony
Remember the sudden stillness;
the sudden peace.
Remember those who fought valiantly
Many of them I just couldn't save.
Remember the faces of those I love
Remember them smiling, laughing and happy.
Try not to imagine their tears
when I don't return
Oh remember me. Please remember me.
Don't forget.
We remember. We will always remember.
Perhaps not your face, not even your name
But what you have done... we will remember.
We will not forget.
