The RCAF Flyers wore the jersey when they represented Canada, and returned to its dominance, winning their fourth Gold Medal out of the first five Olympic Games. (no Olympics in 1940 and 1944 due to WWII).

The Canadians had seven wins and one tie against the team from Czechoslovakia. Czechoslovakia also won seven games and one tie. The RCAF Flyers / Canada won the gold medal on goal differential (+64 for Canada, +62 for Czechoslovakia).

Canada would also win their 12th World Ice Hockey Championship
