The Rangers did not receive The Stanley Cup until November 11, 1933, almost 7 months after they won the championship on April 13, 1933 at Maple Leaf Gardens, after they defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 3 games to 1, in the best of 5 championship.
This Championship was to be known as the "Forgotten Cup"
The New York Rangers did not include President William Carey's name on the Stanley Cup. He is only President of a Stanley Cup winning team left off the Cup, since the engraving of winning members became an annual tradition in 1924.
