Base for funerary kouros. Marble. Found in Athens, in the Kerameikos, built into the Themistokleian wall. The kouros would have stood on the grave of a athlete. The base bears relief decoration on three sides. On the front side, six young athletes play a game similar to modern Hockey. Between circa 510 and circa 500 BC - National Archaeological Museum - Athens, Greece
