This league started out in 1898-99 as the Ottawa Valley League, changing its name to the Upper Ottawa Valley League in 1902-03 -

In 1912-13 and 1913-14 it was the Northern Division of the Interprovincial Hockey Union -

The league suspended play for the 1917-18 and 1918-19 seasons because of World War I -
Starting in 1919-20, this league played in the Ottawa District Hockey Association and was eligible for the Allan Cup - The league suspended play in 1943-44 and 1944-45 for World War II - The league played its last season in 1948-49 before its teams joined the Eastern Canada Senior Hockey League
