EditHull and Oates 1990 Rockin' The Bluenote
L to R - Adam Oates & Brett Hull
Playing together for the St. Louis Blues from 1989 to 1992, the playmaker-sniper combo wreaked havoc on the league, sparking a clever Hockey play on the pop-rock band Hall & Oates.
The Playmaker and the Triggerman: Oates was an elite, pass-first center, allowing Hull to use his legendary slapshot. In their first full season together (1989-1990), Hull scored 72 goals while Oates registered 79 assists. The following year (1990-1991), Hull famously scored 86 goals - the 3rd-highest single-season total in NHL history... largely thanks to Oates, who racked up 90 assists and 115 points that same year.
