Esposito won both trophies for the 1st time.

Bobby Orr excepts the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the NHL Best Defenseman in 1968-69.
This was the 2nd time Orr won the Norris Trophy.

NHL president Clarence Campbell presented the trophies at Boston Garden on January 25, 1970.
