EditJoseph Jean Baptiste Pusie - Born October 15, 1910 in Montreal, Quebec – Died April 21, 1956 in Montreal, Quebec was a Canadian ice Hockey defenceman, boxer and wrestler.
Pusie played for 21 different teams in various minor leagues around North America and changed teams 28 times, not once beginning a new season where he had ended the previous one.
He was known for his antics, especially the penalty shot, where he took the feat to a level not seen before or after his retirement. He was known as the The Clown Prince of Hockey.
Pusie made his NHL debut with Montreal Canadiens on December 2, 1930 vs Philadelphia Quakers at Philadelphia Arena in a 2-0 Montreal win.
Pusie scored his only NHL goal while playing for Boston Bruins vs Bill Beveridge of St. Louis Eagles at 11:30 of 2nd period on November 24, 1934 at St. Louis Arena in a 4-1 Boston win. His goal was the game winner.
Pusie played in 65 regular season NHL games, scoring 1 goal (1 GWG), 4 assists with 28 penalty minutes and 3 NHL playoff games, having 0 points and no penalties.
Pusie won the Stanley Cup in 1931 with the Montreal Canadiens, playing 3 out of 5 games in the Stanley Cup Finals. Pusie's name was not engraved on the Cup, even though he officially qualified. He played 6 regular season games that winning year.
