EditClarence Victor "Sonny" Rost - Born March 9, 1914 in Winnipeg, Manitoba - Died August 7, 2008 was a Canadian / British ice Hockey defenceman, left winger, coach and general manager.

Sonny Rost was 21 years old, fresh from junior Hockey in Manitoba, Canada when he made the steam ship crossing to England to play Hockey.
He was on the 1st Wembley Canadians team, which was playing in the brand new Empire Pool & Sports Arena in the English National League. They would win the 1935 London Cup and Rost would never leave, becoming ‘the grand old man’ of Wembley' and Empire Pool and ice rink.
Rost played, coached, managed and help to establish ice Hockey in Wembley.
Sonny Rost was inducted into British Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 1955
Sonny Rost was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2023.
NOTE
Team Mascot was Clarence Edward "Larry" Rost - July 21, 1937-May 27, 1988. He would become a champion figure skater in Canada.
