Stéphane Yvon Quintal - Born October 22, 1968 in Boucherville, Quebec is a Canadian retired ice Hockey defenceman and NHL Director of Player Safety.

Memorial Cup finalist 1988.

Quintal made his NHL debut with Boston Bruins on November 18, 1988 vs Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena in a 5-2 Detroit win.

Quintal scored his 1st NHL goal vs Kirk McLean of Vancouver Canucks at 5:51 of 2nd period on October 15, 1989 at Pacific Coliseum in a 7-6 Vancouver win.

Quintal played in 1037 regular season NHL games, scoring 63 goals (10 GWG), 180 assists with 1320 penalty minutes and 52 NHL playoff games, scoring 2 goals, 10 assists with 51 penalty minutes.

After retiring as a player, quintal became NHL Director of Player Safety 2014 to 2016
