The Ottawa Alerts played North Toronto in a two-game contest for the inaugural league championship in March 1923.
The Alerts won the first Women’s Ontario Ladies Championship and the Dr Lorne Robertson trophy.
Team colours were black and yellow sweaters with long skirts.
NOTE
The women's Hockey teams from the University of Ottawa and Carleton University now compete for the Alerts Cup. The winner-take-all game has been held intermittently since 2004.
