Politician, Hockey Innovator. Known as Lord Stanley of Preston and the 16th Earl of Derby, he was the son of one England's Prime Ministers.

Stanley served as Canada's Governor General from June 11, 1888 to May 17, 1893. He also served as a Member of the British House of Commons, Member of Cabinet, Lord Mayor of Liverpool, England, and the Chancellor of the University of Liverpool.
