Borisov defeated Oscar Henriksson in the 1/8 final 4 games to 0, then defeated Atis Silis in the Quarterfinal 4 games to 1, then defeated Alexey Zaharov in the Semi-final 4 games to 1.

In the championship final , Borisov played Ahti Lampi in a thrilling 6 game series, in which 3 games went to overtime. Lampi won games 1 and 4 in overtime, while Borisov won games 2, 3 and 5 in regulation, then won the championship in game 6 that went to overtime.
