The NEW Hookin2Hockey program is a fun and exciting way to get involved in playing the great game of hockey in your local area.
Hookin2Hockey is Hockey Australia’s national recruitment program; thousands of children from all over the country have already enjoyed an awesome introduction to hockey through the program.
Parents can register children online to enjoy themselves in a safe community environment. There is also the opportunity to get involved in coaching kids by getting a free nationally recognised HockeyEd Community coaching accreditation.

Human development from birth to adulthood is a continuous process. To understand the process better, experts divide human development into distinct stages with specific characteristics; these are called stages of development.
In Canadian sport, experts have identified seven stages of development, each with its own physical, mental, emotional, and cognitive characteristics. This is our Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, and it’s the basis for the optimal training and competition kids need to enjoy sport the most and perform their best

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey’s Board of Directors unanimously endorsed moving forward the USA Hockey SafeSport Program as its Annual Congress last week in Colorado Springs.
The comprehensive program is focused on creating an environment that will deter abusers and assist those in the hockey community in recognizing, reducing and responding to allegations or suspected abuse.
We’ve long been a leader in providing a safe environment for all involved in the game, said Ron DeGregorio, president of USA Hockey. As an example, we first began screening adults involved with children in the 1990s . The USA Hockey SafeSport program packages our long-standing policies with some updates and includes the excellent video training our partners at the USOC have produced.
Highlighting USA Hockey’s SafeSport Program are more defined standards for the required background screening of coaches and other volunteers having access to youth participants and guidelines for USA Hockey programs in reporting and responding to abuse and/or suspected abuse

Kidproof was formed in 2000 by Samantha Wilson, a former police officer and internationally recognized expert in child and family safety. As a cop, Samantha received fantastic, informative, cutting-edge child safety information that was only being shared by law enforcement and other helping agencies. The information was not top secret but had no way of reaching those who needed it most – the kids. So she formed Kidproof to do just that.
We were formed for one reason, to help raise child safety awareness by empowering children and parents with knowledge that they can draw from in case of an emergency or dangerous situation. – Samantha Wilson
What started as a small community service in London, Ontario, Canada, Kidproof has grown to have international reach and is becoming the driving force in proactive and preventative child safety education on a global scale. With a steady growth rate, our team continues to develop child safety programs, seminars and services that enrich and empower families – and ultimately keep kids safe
