Dear Ron MacLean. Dear Coachs Corner. Im writing in order for someone to explain to my niece the distinction between these mandatory pre-game group rites of submission and the rallies at Nuremburg. Specifically the function the ritual serves in conjunction with what everybody knows is in the end a kids game. Winnipeg musician John K. Samson, known for his role as frontman of the Canadian band The Weakerthans, launched a new album titled ‘Provincial,’ featuring a song about the community of Riverton, Manitoba and its petition to have their hometown hero, and current Manitoulin resident, Reggie Leach, inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
The song ‘Petition’ originally appeared on Mr. Samson’s three-song EP, Provincial Road 222, which was released in September of 2010
