The 1906 season produced a tie for the season ECAHA championship, the defending champion Ottawa Hockey Club and the Montreal Wanderers played a two-game playoff, with the winner being awarded the Stanley Cup. The series took place on March 14, 1906 in Montreal at Westmount Arena (Montreal Arena), with the Wanderers winning 9 to 1, and March 17, 1906 in Ottawa at Dey's Arena, with Ottawa winning 9 to 3. The Montreal Wanderers would win the series based on total goals 12 to 10 and be crowned Stanley Cup Champions. The Montreal Wanderers defended the Stanley Cup against the New Glasgow Cubs on December 27, 1906 with a 10 to 3 victory, and again on December 29, 1906, winning 7 to 2. The series was based on total goals, with the Wanderers winning 17 to 5. Both games played at Westmount Arena. The 1907 season started with a challenge from the Kenora Thistles on January 17, 1907 with the Thistles winning 4 to 2, and again on January 21, 1907 with the Thistles winning 8 to 6. Again the series was based on total goals with the Kenora Thistles winning 12 to 8, and being crowned Stanley Cup Champions. Both games were played at Westmount Arena. The Montreal Wanderers were granted a return challenge against the Kenora Thistles on March 23, 1907, with the Wanderers winning game 1 with a score of 7 to 2. Game 2 was played on March 25, 1907 with the Kenora Thistles winning 6 to 5. Again the series was based on total goals, with the Wanderers winning 12 to 8, and being crowned Stanley Cup champions again. Both games were played at Winnipeg Arena. The 1908 season started with a challenge from the Ottawa Victorias on January 9, 1908 with the Wanderers winning 9 to 3, and again on January 13, 1908 with the Wanderers again winning 13 to 1. The next challenge came from the Winnipeg Maple Leafs on March 10, 1908 with the Wanderers winning 11 to 5. Game 2 was played on March 12, 1908 with the Wanderers again winning 9 to 3. The next challenge came from the Toronto Professional Hockey Club on March 14, 1908, a 1 game challenge with the Wanderers winning 6 to 4. The next challenge came from the Edmonton Eskimos - Edmonton Hockey Club - on December 28, 1908 with the Wanderers winning 7 to 3, and again on December 30, 1908 with the Edmonton Hockey Club winning 7 to 6. The Montreal Wanderers would again be crowned Stanley Cup champions based on the total goals scored in the series, with the Wanderers outscoring the Edmonton team 13 to 10. All challenge games in 1908 were played at Westmount Arena in Montreal.
