St. Paul Athletic Club joined the American Amateur Hockey Association along with Portage Lake, Calumet and American Soo, the latter teams being located in Upper Michigan. Many of the players in the league were imported Canadians.

St. Paul tied for the regular scheduled season league title with American Soo (Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan). In the playoffs St. Paul defeated American Soo three games out of four, winning the MacNaughton Cup Championship.
