Gary William "Scoop" Edwards - Born October 5, 1947 in Toronto, Ontario is a Canadian/American retired ice Hockey goaltender.

Edwards made his NHL debut with the St. Louis Blues on December 11, 1968 vs the Chicago Black Hawks at Chicago Stadium in a 6-3 Chicago win. Edwards played just 3:49 seconds in the game, behind Jacques Plante (16:11) and Glenn Hall (40:00).

Edwards got his 1st NHL victory playing for the Los Angeles Kings on October 10, 1971 vs the Vancouver Canucks at the Pacific Coliseum in a 4-3 Kings win.

Edwards got his 1st NHL shutout vs the Philadelphia Flyers on October 21, 1971 at The Spectrum in a 7-0 Kings win.

Won Los Angeles Rookie of Year award in 1971-72

NOTE
Edwards gave up Guy Lafleur's 1st NHL goal on Oct. 23, 1971 in Los Angeles and gave up Wayne Gretzky's 50th goal on April 2, 1980, making Gretzky youngest 50-goal scorer.
