Cyril Joseph Denneny - Born December 23, 1891 in Farran's Point, Ontario – Died September 10, 1970 in Ottawa, Ontario was a Canadian professional ice Hockey forward.

Denneny set an NHL record by opening the 1917–18 season with four straight multi-goal games. Though the record still stands, it was tied in 2013 by San Jose Sharks' forward Patrick Marleau.

Denneny was one of the top scorers in the NHL from 1917 through 1925. While leading the league in scoring during the 1923–24 NHL season, he did so by recording 22 goals and one assist for a total of 23 points, the lowest winning total in NHL history.

Denneny topped the 20-goal mark eight times in his stellar career.

When Denneny retired, he was the all-time top scorer in NHL history with 331 points to his credit.

Denneny was the first and remains the fastest player in NHL history to score 200 goals (in 181 Games Played).

On March 7, 1921, Denneny scored five goals in one game against the Hamilton Tigers. In so doing, he became the sixth player in NHL history to accomplish this feat. The fifth had been his brother Corb, who five weeks earlier had potted five of his own against the Tigers.

Denneny won 5 Stanley Cups - 4 with the Ottawa Senators i 1920, 1921, 1923 and 1927. 1 with the Boston Bruins in 1929 as a playing-coach.

Cy Denneny inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1959
